Sunday morning in Winnipeg was historic! Avi won. The NDP comeback is real and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.
I run operations, which means I know exactly what it cost to get here and to make sure the people who built this get taken care of.
Campaigns don’t end when the winner walks offstage. Real human beings made this happen. People on phones, designers making materials at midnight, a travel team getting Avi across the country for seven months. Those people need to be paid, and they deserve to be paid on time.
We also have an auditor to pay. Canada has strict rules about how leadership campaigns handle money. Elections Canada requires a full audit. I love that about this country, honestly. We’re not the American wild west. But compliance costs money, and that bill is coming.
And here’s one more thing you should know: 25% of every dollar donated to our campaign goes directly to paying down the NDP’s 2025 legacy debt. Over the course of this race, our donors already contributed almost $500,000 to the party that way. That’s a big deal, and it happened because of you.
