New data from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute (online survey of 1,803 Canadian adults, June 4–10, 2026) shows Prime Minister Mark Carney’s approval slipping to 55 per cent — a third straight decline from his February peak. Cost of living tops the issue agenda at 61 per cent, well ahead of health care and housing. More Canadians say the country is on the wrong track (46%) than the right one (31%).
On vote intention, the Liberals lead at 41 per cent to the Conservatives’ 36. The release notes the NDP, now led by Avi Lewis, stands at 12 per cent — higher than earlier in Carney’s term — and that NDP competitiveness is a factor tightening the race in British Columbia (Liberals 41%, CPC 36%) and Ontario (Liberals 43%, CPC 39%), likely dampening Liberal vote intention in those seat-rich provinces. Among 2025 federal voters, 46 per cent of NDP voters say Canada is on the wrong track.
